Chihiro+ Kohahu= Chihaku

Spirited Away is an amazing movie. And the romance between Chihiro and Haku... ahhhh, it gets me all fuzzy inside.

So this is one of the new patterns I've been working on! I'm really pleased with the head pattern (it's as round as my lycra plush). :D Btw, these guys' skin is made with deersuede; it's fuzzy and sturdy...so the plushies aren't as squishy, but they're soft. :)

They're about 11~12 inches high. Deersuede is a little annoying to paint, but I decided to handpaint the eyes because I wanted to give them that extra special touch. :XD:

Kohaku's hair has a blue-tinge because I couldn't find green, and it's the best I could get. Maybe one day when I get my dyeing fabric stuff going, I'll be able to get any colour I want~~

OFF-TOPIC: For your entertainment, while searching for ref photos, I found the best fanart ever...It's currently my desktop wallpaper, and I'm just staring at it when I'm not working and I love it to bits: [link]
That site is like a Japanese DA. I haven't quite figured out how to navigate around it too well since my nihongo skills are slim to none, but try to check out that artist's other work. It's really beautiful and inspiring. :D

Wow these plushies are beautiful! I was just about to ask what the skin is made of, but i just saw you posted it in the description! XD
I'll bet your bedroom is full of these things XDDDD

And speaking of you mentioning the head pattern, are your plushie heads completely round or do they have a sort of square front to them? I've been wanting to do a plushie person for a while, and all thats been stopping me is the head XD I'm surfing dA for research LOL

I think they're pretty round! ^^; There's an example of a head pattern in my gallery; it's for a mini plush, but the head part can give you ideas on where to start.

Thank you! That helps ALOT XD

Also, now that I'm thinking of it, do you use a sewing machine or do it by head?

I sew by machine and by hand, depending on what's needed. (some stitches can't be done by machine, for example, when piecing the parts together).

Ah! Thank you!
TT,TT I still have a lot to learn. I'm currently making a pony for my friend's birthday, and body wise it's complete and proportioned and everything, but I'm having trouble with the wings, mane and tail. Its just taking so long. Hes getting impatient -3-

lol, your friend just has to be patient cuz these projects take time-- espescially ponies with their mane and wings; I've never made a pony, but my friend who does told me that she handsews those details...which is more time consuming. Hope your friend's happy with the bday gift! XD

Yup, I'll see ya here with Roxas and Zack.
btw, Zack's almost complete; just hair and eyes. I ended up making him in the navy blue outfit since I figured you'd appreciate the accurate colour better. The only downside is that his shirt isn't ridged, but at least it's the right colour. (cuz the black outfit is usually the one from Advent Children where he has the hair with the one-strand bang)

For the skin, deersuede. For the clothes, a mix of flanelette, cotton broadcloth, craft velour and corduroy (for Haku's sandals). And for hair, felt.
