Is he cute? Please say yes because I tried really hard to make him the least creepy as possible. I think he's cute, but I also think that Konjiki Ashisogi Jizo is cute, so my opinion is invalid.

I actually didn't plan on making him, but as I was looking for Bleach refs, I stumbled upon a pic from the 'Bleach Concept Covers' album ([link] ) and the Mayuri chibi looked so cute that I wanted to plushify him. I've been working on a Nendoroid-inspired pattern, so I decided to use it since it sorta matched the ref. Unfortunately, his robes hide all the proportions, but notice how small his feet are!

This plush had so many handstitched details that it made my callous sore. I really enjoyed making his zanpakuto (cuz that didn't require any sewing, lol)! And since the plush can sit, I left it removable...otherwise, it might get in the way while sitting. It's a bit immature of me to say this, but every time I see Mayuri grab his sword, I think of its 'metaphorical implications'.

I'm bringing this guy to Anime North 2013! If he sells, I really want to meet the crazy person that loves him as much as I do.

Materials used for this plush:
Base body craft velour
Clothes flanelette, micro chenille (neck contraption), felt (shoes)
Hat flanelette, interfacing.
Face quickfuse (for eyes and mouth), black paint (actually, I first tried this black print base that turned out to be expired since it didn't set and sorta reeked of urea, so I had to scrub it off. Some of the colour did end up staying, so I just touched it up with black acrylic.)
