Mini-plush prototype-- Gaara by pheleon Mini-plush prototype-- Gaara by pheleon
Lets all hop onto the mini-plush bandwagon! :party: Actually, I made this dude wayyyy back in the summer, but just never posted him. ^^;

Mini Gaara is 6" tall... I wanted to make plush keychains, but I think 6" is too big...so I'm working on making him smaller, but I failed to have enough time, so I'm just submitting this as is.

Just a few random questions:
1. What's your preferred plushie size?
2. Who's your fave character(s) of all times, that you'd really like plushified?
3. Would you buy plush keychains, or do you prefer them as plushies?

To show the size difference: [link]
...and to let you know, yuki is the standard 11", she's as tall as gintoki in this pic: [link]
(I no longer own any of my 15" plushies, so I couldn't take the pic with all three sizes together!)

On a final note, mini Gaara is up for grabs. He's 15$, which includes standard shipping in Canada/USA. I'll only accept paypal. Note me if you're interested!
EDIT Sold! He's got a real home now. :)

How do you manage to make your plushies stand on their own?

They're actually not all free-standing! (I usually prop a palette knife in their back during the photoshoot) But for the ones that are free-standing, it's because all their body parts align with their center of gravity; it's just a matter of designing the pattern.

It would depend on the plush style/size. Here's my pricelist for commissions to have an idea: pheleon.jlauportfolio.com/2013…

1. What's your preferred plushie size?
- Mhh... probably 15 inch, but these small ones are easy to take..
2. Who's your fave character(s) of all times, that you'd really like plushified?
- Young Charles Xavier (X-Men First Class) or... L from Death Note.
3. Would you buy plush keychains, or do you prefer them as plushies?
- Oh I'd prefer plushies but that wouldn't mean I wouldn't buy them as keychains =D

You should check out ~kinkaku's Zacks for reference: [link] and [link]
I also made him as a commish: [link]
That's just to give you an idea how he looks plushified. :) (cuz it's sometimes hard to simplify their plush rendition)
Hope it helps, and good luck plushing!

That mini Gaara is amazing! I know you were looking to use that pattern as a key chain, but I think it would sell fabulously as is.

Speaking of which, I know even though your commission status is closed, if a person were to commission you for a plushie is that particular type available? I checked out your commission info page and sadly that size wasn't up.

I know the Gaara plush sold for 15$ but I would pay at least double that.

So uhh... to reiterate, hypothetically speaking that is, would a person be able to commission a character of their choosing in that particular plushie style?

I'd take special requests (i.e. characters in any size/style), but the price becomes really varied, so that's why I didn't mention it on my standard commission info. So the answer to your question is yes. :)

This is one of the cutest smaller-sized plushies I've seen! Absolutely adorable. And you still put in so much detail--his clothing looks great!

To answer your questions, I guess I like the standard size plushies the best, though I am very fond of minis. As a matter of fact, if I could get my hands on several minis of Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho and Kagome from Inuyasha, I would be a very happy girl! ^_~ Those two are my favorite male and female characters. and I definitely prefer just a plushie doll to a keychain one.

Now I'm off to check out your commission info! ^_^

so cute~!! *o*:heart::heart: I like the mini size~ it's adorable
1) under 16"--- about 10~12" seems about right. (I don't like them very large, since I have limited shelf space XD ) small is always cute *w*;;
2)? XD
3) I like plushies over keychain plush (in general) But it depends on how it looks like~ :D if it's cute, I'd buy either-- ;)

Yay! You posted a chibi! :excited: The details on Gaara look amazing! Its hard to imagine he is so small. :wow: Is the gourd made out of felt?

As for ze questions:
1. What's your preferred plushie size?
--> I really don't mind - big, small they are all good with me. :D

2. Who's your fave character(s) of all times, that you'd really like plushified?
--> :XD: My fav characters change on a monthly basis but ones that have survived for this long have to be Kenshin and Ameratsu (the wolf from Okami).

3. Would you buy plush keychains, or do you prefer them as plushies?
--> If I had to choose, I would prefer plushies - Much easier to display than keychain.

Aw! He's a cutie (also: netting on his shoulder? You crazy awesome person).

As for the questions:
1. Around 10'' and up. A variety is fun though, (lotsa small, a few large for the hardcore)
2. Don't know - anyone you do comes out pretty spectacular. :D
3. You could maybe test run a few keychains, but stick with the plushies. People are more willing to think of them as a bigger investment. I'm not sure how much effort would go into a keychain compared to what people think they're worth.

:iconpheleon:

You sure have a point! Most people won't spend 10$ for a keychain... and they still take a while to make, so I can't charge anything lower. I think I'll stick to plushies; and make keychains of other things. :)

1: Preferred is around 10 inches
2: Favorite of all time would probably be Arche from Tales of Phantasia
3: and I like both. But plush keychains have to be small to be able to use them. :x

Awww, the tiny-ness definitely adds to the cuteness. He's adorable. ^-^

1. I like little plushies, because the smaller they are, the more chibified in style they usually end up being, which is always a good thing. ^^ But, I tend to plush on the large side, so anything between 9"- 16" is my preferred size for plushies.
2. That's a tough one, because I think I've plushified all my major favorites so far.
3. Yes I would. ^^ I probably wouldn't use them as keychains, because they'd be a little too clunky, but I'd definitely hang them around my room. Maybe instead of keychains, they could be plushie ornaments? ^-^

He's so deceptively cute >w<

1. big enough to be easily cuddled~
2. Tough question DX Already have the wonderful Bakura plush you made me, but for the moment I'll say the unsinkable Lord Kamina
3. I kinda prefer plushies - I like keychains, but they always break off and get lost before I notice they are missing :<

Looking good! That's a lot of detail for such a little guy!
1. I like plushies that are big enough to hug, so the 11'' and 15'' are probably my favorites. That being said little ones are cute too, especially for keychains, and more popular because they're cheaper.
2. ??? I don't know... I'm trying to figure out who to make next myself.
3. Key chains are cool, but you really only need one. But you can never have to many plushies! ;p

thanks for the feedback. Yeah, people don't seem to feel as guilty in buying many small things... so at a con, I think I'll stick to the small guys. (well, I didn't sell any of my 15" ones...)

Amazing! Its adorable, and so detailed for a plush so teeny O.O
To awnser your questions...

1. I like big plushies, like 15 inches, and then very small ones (6 inch) that you can collect in plushie armies 8D
2. Yukito or Misuzu from AIR, or anyone from higurashi (when they cry).
3. I would love to buy plush keychains~ I'd actually prefer them as mini plush, without the keychain...

Hope that helps!

Awesome ^___^

I love plushies In all different sizes, probably because I've made them myself from as small as 4 inches to 16 inches.
Some characters to Plush....I really like all the characters from Tsubasa Chronicles and Cardcaptor sakura... Himeno Awiyuki from Pretear is cute too.
Plushies and keychains are cool ....I love them both

Oh my god, so cute!

I would buy plushies on "keychains" (or other attaching thing) to put on my bag. I think 6" is a good size for that, actually. And you can get more details this way than if it were smaller.

That is an insanely adorable Gaara.

I like plushies in all sizes. I would buy plush keychains, yes--big ones the better. I tend to lose keys. I prefer plushes but yeah, I would buy keychains for sure.

My favorite size is about barbie size--12 '' but for yours I like bigger because you put so much detail into them.
